ABOUT ME

I was born in Sheffield in 1964, and I have lived and worked in Yorkshire my entire life. I have had a rich and varied career, latterly as a primary school teacher. I rediscovered my passion for drawing, and in 2021 decided to become a professional artist.

I now work from a small studio space at home, where I work on commissioned pieces, gallery work and artwork for exhibitions. I have spent many decades honing my craft, and I do my best to capture the spirit of the animal I am drawing. I focus strongly on the eyes, as they say, they are the window to the soul. 

I have begun to work more frequently with pastels, which I find much more painterly and they are a joy to blend and use. They are great for creating pet portraits, both living and in memorium. It is a real privilege as an artist to know that my work is so cherished and brings joy to people as a constant reminder of their beloved pet.
